XOXO

I had a little play with my Photoplay Smitten collection a while ago and created some valentine cards.

For this card I used two of the papers, some elements from the ephemera pack to create the little banner, flowers from the sticker sheet and a sentiment fussy cut from one of the toppers.

This time I used four of the papers, some bits and pieces from the sticker sheet and a topper from the paper pad.

Everything on this card is from the collection with the exception of a little heart cut from velum.  I often use velum to separate a focal point from the background when the background is a little fussy, it helps the focal point to stand out a bit.

Again, everything on this card is from the Smitten collection, I used a Crafter's Companion die to cut the dotty banner from one of the papers, the heart and small sentiment are from the sticker sheet and I cut the larger sentiment from one of the toppers in the paper pad.

Fun and Games

I have some masculine cards to share today, ideal for a boy that is into video games, I have used a variety of papers and dies.

I have used some older papers from my stash for this card, I think they are from Echo Park, I found a picture of a controller on the internet. I printed it out and used it as a stencil to draw around and then cut out.  The buttons are all made up from die cut circles layered up.

For this card I used Crafter's Companion papers from the Modern Man Collection and Hunkydory dies from the Fun & Games Collection.

I used more of the papers from the Crafter's Companion Modern Man collection for this card and the controller is another one that I cut out using the stencil that I created.  The large die cut sentiment is a Memory Box die that I have had in my stash for ages.

For my final card I used more papers from the Echo Park collection along with die cut controllers from the Hunkydory Fun & Games collection.

Thank you to everyone that has taken the time to visit my blog and I much appreciate the comments that have been left.  I will make the effort to visit your blogs in the near future and see what you have all been up to in my absence.

Take care.

The Herbarium

I'm back today with four more cards to share, I created them using the Herbarium collection by Craft Consortium.

This first card is a tri-fold card, it has three sections each with a pocket.

Each pocket contains a tag.

For my second card I created a little washing line and pegged three small tags onto it, there are lots of bits and bobs to fussy cut in this collection - you all know how much I love to fussy cut.

There are more fussy cut items on this card along with some torn edges - I have used distress ink on the edges of all four cards.

For my final card I used two more of the large tags from the paper pad along with some more fussy cut pieces and inked edges.

Precious Memories

I thought it was high time that I resurrected my blog, I can't believe that it is over a year since I last posted.  I haven't been spending much time on social media at all, I think it did me good to have a break.  I have been making cards, I've just not shared them.

Thank you to those of you that have enquired after me, several people messaged me on Facebook to see if I was ok, I also received several emails, I apologise for not getting back to you all.

I have four cards to share today, I created them using the May 2023 card kit from Spellbinders.

For my first card I have used two of the papers from the collection along with some of the die cuts, a couple of fussy cut bits and a sentiment.

On my second card I have kept it simple again - just two papers, some die cuts and a sentiment.

On this card because I have used quite a bold paper for the background, I decided to die cut an oval from velum, I have then arranged a selection of die cut pieces and a sentiment from the collection.

On my final card I have created a small envelope and filled it with a selection of die cut flowers.

Thank you for popping in today - please be patient with me while I get back into the swing of things.

The Good Life

I have created these cards with the Simple Vintage Garden District collection from Simple Stories.

For this card I have used four of the small toppers from the collection, I layered them onto squares of plain paper cut out with a stitched square die and added a fussy cut butterfly.

I have used some of the small toppers again for this card, I used a pierced square die to cut them out and and added some more fussy cut butterflies to embellish.

I decided on a more distressed look for this card, I used one of the larger toppers, several of the papers, a sentiment, fussy cut butterflies and a heart sticker.

For my final card I used some more of the small toppers cut out with a pierced square die, some images from the papers, also cut out with the pierced square die, a sentiment and a fussy cut butterfly.

New Beginnings

I have been a very bad blogger again, it's ages since I have posted anything!  In my defence, we have been very busy in the garden  We have made some large deep beds and have cleared the area where my old greenhouse used to be, we had to remove it to make way for my husband's cabin.  We are now in the process of creating a vegetable patch - I will share some photographs when it is all completed.

I am sharing some more cards that I created with the Crafter's Companion Make and Send pads, again I have tried to make something rather different to the examples that are given, I have used the All Occasions pad, there is also a Christmas one.

For this card I have used a couple of the papers, a topper and a fussy cut butterfly along with my Gemini Edge'ables - With Love die.

For this one I have used my Gemini Edge'ables - Moroccan Trellis dies with two of the papers, a sentiment and some more fussy cut butterflies.  I made the rosette from one of the papers using my Tim Holtz Paper Rosette Die.

This one is more like some of the samples - I have used three of the papers, a sentiment topper and two fussy cut butterflies.  I also cut out and made up one of the envelopes that are included in the pad.

For my final card I used two of the papers and my Gemini Expressions - Thanks A Bunch die, I also made up another envelope.

An Introduction

I have something a bit different to share today - I would like to introduce you to the two latest editions to our family - Peggy and Rita.

We have had them for just over three weeks now - we have had chickens in the past and they were allowed to roam in the garden, however we have Ramsey and Jasper now and we didn't think that it would be a good idea to let them in the garden together so we built them a run.

They do seem to get along really well - the dogs think the chickens are quite interesting and fortunately the chickens really don't seem at all bothered by the dogs.

They have plenty of space and we have put an old garden bench in there for them, they seem to rather enjoy sitting on it, they also have a log to perch on and I am going to find some old plant pots and bits and bobs to add some interest.

Peggy is a lot more adventurous than Rita but they are never very far apart.

We had our first egg yesterday, it was laid by Peggy.

It is quite small but perfectly formed, I seem to remember that the first eggs laid by our old chickens had soft shells, this one is nice and hard.

We had our second egg this morning, again laid by Peggy so I decided to have poached eggs for my lunch and they were yummy.

Hopefully Rita will begin to lay soon and we will have lots of lovely eggs.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, please leave a comment so that I can come and visit you.
